@FawfulsFury I honestly liked that twist. I felt like it could've been executed a bit better though, since it was easy to tell right away what the twist was. Would've been more interesting if they played around with the audience expectations for it. Having Reclusa show up was kinda a major giveaway.

It's so weird playing Superstar Saga after Brothership. The way that the characters are depicted is so much better- and Luigi genuinely does have more gags as well.

I'm also starting to realize something when playing SuperStar Saga. The game's kingdom has more racial variation than Brothership. Instead of just one race of characters, you have the HooHoo people and the Bean people.

The interview has been updated. They discuss how it was like “chasing rainbows” with how long it took to make the islands, they emphasized the brotherly bond and drama, they struggled to make the music by having weekly meetings with Sakamato and trying different instruments, and Otani recommended “playing by your own pace.” They thought up to 100 possible names for the game. https://www.nintendo.com/en-gb/News/2024/December/Ask-the-Dev...
Frustrating. They keep bringing up making the game "Mario & Luigi-like," but that's not the same as just making a new Mario & Luigi. Their process to capture the voice of the series feels skin-deep - surface level, like they only understand what makes a good Mario & Luigi in theory, not in general. I don't think you necessarily need to bring back the original creatives behind a series to make a good comeback game but you do need to have a strong understanding of what made that series fun at is core. It's what separates a Crash 4 from a Wrath of Cortex, so to speak.
@N00BiSH Honestly it surprises me that they don’t have a real understanding of what makes the series what it is. Playing Superstar Saga alone kinda shows what makes the series so good.
